When you buy a dress shirt with the intentions to tailor it you might notice that there's a different seam on the side that you want to keep. It's called a flat felled seam and it has a few benefits to it. One being that it sits flat on your body, and is a lot more comfortable. The second benefit is it looks a lot more professional. Funny thing is, professionals won't usually do this...weird.
