In this episode of languages of Italy, we're testing mutual intelligibility between the Lombard language and three other Romance languages (French, Spanish and Romanian). Can they understand Lombard? The Lombard language is a language, consisting in a cluster of dialects spoken by millions of speakers in Northern Italy and Southern Switzerland, including most of Lombardy and some areas of neighbouring regions. Lombard is considered a minority language, structurally separate from Italian, by Ethnologue and by the UNESCO Red Book on Endangered Languages.
