@ArtsUnlimited3 years agoSpeaking of Irish, my favourite is "Father Ted" sitcom. The accent is so very well pronounced there, I used subtitles at times but really was fascinated by it. Also, I don't know which of the British accents is represented in "Rosemary and Thyme", but it's a lovely detective I would suggest to anyone trying to learn English. Language in this series is very beautiful! ...4

@vyvienn3 years agoGood god, I remember watching "Educating Rita" in English class many moons ago! Great film! My recommendation for the Yorkshire accent is almost anything with Sean Bean in it. I saw him on stage in London once, doing "Macbeth", and I swear he didn't even try to sound remotely Scottish, lol! To hear Welsh accents, you could also recommend "Hinterland", which incidentally seems to frequently be available on Netflix (or was, for an eternity). The show also features some interesting scenery. ...4

@sweiland753 years agoFor a very different Canadian accent, I would recommend Trailer Park Boys, which is set in Newfoundland and Labrador. Their accent is quite indistinguishable from an Irish accent. 7

I used to watch american series like Girlmore Girls, but when I watched The Crown, I knew I wouldn’t go back to american series. there’s something so charming in british/uk accents, no matter what it is. and now my netflix list is filled with british/uk series only 😁 ...2
