@ninabrownstone88067 years ago I've recently read her book, and I agreed with most of it and what she saying in this podcast. As a Black Woman, I Totally understand what she's talking about. So many of us are angry about what she said, but it holds true to this day. ... 99

@bittertruth14448 years ago I noticed that this channel had only three comments before me. I found that to be very telling. If this video was about dissing each other (BM BW) that would be 1000+ comments and all of them snipping at each other.
I'm old enough to have bought this book when it first came out. This book is as relevant now as it was back then. I believe that if both BM and BW could have done 1/3rd of what this sister had suggested twenty-plus years ago we may not be in the condition we are now.

@SAN_E74 years ago I just recently forwarded a couple of short videos regarding the book to my 3 sisters (one is married). Their responses?
    1. "Don't agree"
    2. "Wow"
    3. "Let's just stick to funny vids"
When I questioned what was the problem or why was there disagreement, I got no responses!
I will always and forever support my beautiful black men!

@chrisgreene46728 years ago I love her teachings concerning the "black woman". Many women feel it's belittling and weak to trust and allow the black man to be the leader in our homes and follow his instruction. We are the only race and women who are taught this unacceptable behavior. It actually takes a very strong black woman to humble herself and let our men do what they were born to do . I have always had a great respect and admiration for The Black Man and have received nothing short in return from them. I feel an obligation to uplift encourage and follow His Lead and defend His integrity. The first man to grace the earth the strongest both mentally and physically with all they have to deal with I couldn't imagine and they still provide and protect their families!!!! ... 74

@gorgeouslady56126 years ago What do young black people know how to do? Can you read, can you cook, can you figure out problems on your own, do you
talk and visit your older relatives?. What are you really learning in school?. What are your interest other than Rap and basketball!.
do you go to the library and read and research on your own?. What positive things can you teach your little brother or sister?.

@intelligentthinker80855 years ago When I am around family and friends having discussions regarding the challenges that affect the black community. They often get upset with me when I say that "IT IS THE WOMANS FAULT FOR BEING A SINGLE MOTHER AND/OR REARING A CHILD ALONE." My reason for the statement is because the woman decides who she wants to have intercourse with (not the man), the woman has the most access to the various options of contraceptives (not the man). Lastly, the woman makes the decision on terminating the pregnancy, adoption, or rearing the child (not the man). When I see woman who have never been married but have multiple children with multiple fathers, I automatically assume that she is sexually irresponsible.
Being a single mother is an epidemic in the black community and we have come to the point to where we embrace the concept of having children out of wedlock. Then we wonder why we have so many challenges in our community. It is due to a total break-down in the family structure.
    1) Ladies if the man that you are dating/courting etc... has children that you rarely or never see, chances are he is a dead-beat dad.
    2) Just because your mother/father did it does not make it right. "Romans 12:2 KJV States: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
    3) Do not expect for some man to come along and assume responsibility for your children. Those are the one's that are truly special.
    4) Remember that it would selfish on your behalf for your new man to assume responsibility for your children while neglecting his own.
    5) If this applies to you, please do not take it personal. Instead, instill the proper values into your daughter and encourage her to be sexually responsible. There is nothing wrong with birth control
