Clouds cover about 70% of the planet at any moment. But what if — poof — they all disappeared? While hurricane season would be over essentially forever, we'd have huge problems on our hands, like a dwindling supply of fresh water and a much, much hotter planet.

What If All The Clouds Disappeared Forever?
@tellder13 years agoFor the second there thought that this was the new Kurzgesagt video 197

@siddarthachoudhury6183 years agoHi science insider creators, I have one more question "What would happen if Earth rotate from north to south instead of East to West? 10

@
@merrymachiavelli20413 years agoThe Fukushima reference is a bit bizarre....they can shut off reactors given enough notice. Presumably, if water was becoming scarce, that's what would happen. 5

@evgeniiaborodavka46273 years agoOk, I’ll never complain about cloudy weather again 2
@
@dailydoseofmedicinee3 years agoClouds play a vital role in our climate by regulating the amount of solar energy that reaches the surface and the amount of the Earth's energy that is radiated back into space. The more energy that is trapped by the planet, the warmer our climate will grow. If less energy is collected, the climate will become cooler.👍 ...2
@
@SS-_.13 years agoThis video seemed more like the Chinese knock off of kurzgesagt. Also having no clouds is a impossibility. Your first sentence about the higher humidity itself is incomplete. Humidity will rise to the higher levels of the atmosphere and cool and condense to form new clouds. That's 5th grade science i learned. So for your scenario of clouds never forming will require earth to have no upper atmosphere. And if that happens then missing clouds are least of our problems. ...5

@
@progamer_20072 years agoThis is what I mean, people don’t even care about the earth. But I do I or we don’t want to die in a planet when it’s already dying, right? Like if we don’t look after our planet Everything will die trust me.
@
@ibidibi3 years agoa small inaccuracy the powerplants that are designed today won't explode there are failsafes however many countries are lazy and haven't upgraded the us is a particular outlier.

@
@yawnberg3 years agoLike yeah, but how? Discussion is a useful exercise but if everything was otherwise the same why wouldn't there be clouds? Something fundamental has to be broken for this to happen, and whatever that is would have to be the scariest thing of all... right? Like some warlock just abracadabra'd the clouds away forever: who cares about the humidity when you just found out that magic is real? ...

@stephaniedayonot3 years agoArt and style stealing from Kurzgesagt is definitely worth an unsub. Kurzgesagt put so much time and effort into their videos. I’m sure this took some effort to replicate their style but stealing an entire animation and art style is lazy and skeevy. I couldn’t even consider this video as “taking inspiration from Kurzgesagt” it’s an entire brand rip off. ...3

@R2gbs3 years agoWhat a great piece of propaganda! From "would" the video changes to "will". Gives no explanation about the relationship between CO2 levels and less clouds. The major emphasis goes on the scary part, disasters... ...1

@faydulaksono3 years agomasya allah ..allah made cloud.. allah made this universe..
@
@mctobi29213 years agoThere are so many things FALSE with this Video.... first of all the water drain would be less because no/lessevaporation anymore (because of humindity)...and water an condense at other cold objects as well so it would find another place to condense instead of clouds... and water doesnt just disapper when we use it up like you imply... furthermore clouds dont just reflect heat, they trap heat in as well... so you have to differenciate between high clouds which heat up the world overall and low clouds which cool the athmosphere...and why the fu does the ocean water suddenly seeping into fresh water as it doesnt do it now so why does it suddenly start to do that? ...
@
@matlofot60763 years agoJesus Christ guys could AT LEAST give the quantities in the video in BOTH metric and imperial units? I mean, cmon, I got interested and suddenly I see something like "80-100 gallons of water", ugh, it almost hurt me physically :( and now I have to pause the video, check it out and come back here, yeah, I know, seems like a no big deal, but those little details - such as remembering that ALMOST WHOLE WORLD uses metric system and a vast part of the audience may not really grasp the unit of g a l o n s ffs - just make a good video for me - in this case it wasn't the one, really ...
