I came across this while searching for Bruce Timm related stuff to get me inspired. Given the impact his art and BTAS had on me. I like Bruce’s work when he’s really being himself in his work. Rather than when he’s trying to emulate Kirby in some pieces.
It’s interesting to hear more about his early career journey from that to Batman. It was especially cool to hear you mention all the things that aren’t well known about outside of Timm fans: like the Black & White, Red Romance and his interview in the “Modern Masters” book. I feel lucky to have gotten the latter before it ran out. And I bought the Naughty & Nice book at a bloody high price. Still worth every penny, though.
