Me, to Matt: There’s something I’d been hoping to know more about but wasn’t addressed in the C2 Wrap-Up: Zeenoth’s corruption and Thoreau’s deal with him. Specifically, did Clara know what was really going on, or did he hide that from her? And how deep did the corruption go? Because I want to believe that he kept her in the dark, knowing she’d object to it but wanted to keep her under his thumb. And also that she was just as much a victim as her daughter, and that hopefully following the trial, he comes home to an empty house, as she and TJ left him.
Matt's response: Clara was not aware of the depths it went, but she did not follow on her suspicions either. Even so, its is a complicated dynamic within the family. I imagine Thoreau’s toxic behaviors are very specific in their timing & targets, and otherwise appears a wonderful husband/father. In my mind, those revelations shook up the dynamic and allowed Clara the strength and impetus to take TJ and leave. She isn’t without her feeling of guilt for not seeing things as they were/believing him entirely, but she is trying to begin anew and make amends.

So yeah, even Clara and TJ get a happy ending. And it's my belief that Clara reconnects with Beau and they start over as a family with Yasha And TJ. ....وسعت 144

@hawkmoreمنذ 3 سنوات I am so thankful to Matt for finally going behind the curtain a little bit. I get in the occasional argument with people who idolize him a little too much id="hidden27" class="buttons"> and think he has literally everything prepared, where the truth OF COURSE is that he's just absolutely amazing at playing on the fly.
His preparation is STILL out of this world. It doesn't make things any less impressive that he doesn't pre-build optional dungeons and fleshes out the places the party is going when he learns they're going to go there, just like the rest of us.
Matt is incredible because he just absolutely never goes behind the curtain, and never tells ANYONE (including his wife and best friends) about the unanswered questions. He just lets it stew, and takes notes, and lets the theories run. It's incredibly well done, but I'm just so thankful he broke that a little bit today to show us that he in fact did not know how the game was going to end when he started it. He's a normal human being, just like the rest of us, and we need to stop putting these unrealistic standards on him (and by proxy, on ourselves). ....وسعت 91

I think that's also why Liam, Vax, and, Caleb have been my favorite and least favorite parts of Critical Role. No matter the decision he makes hes in character but also himself whether meta or not. @isaiahwelch8066منذ 2 سنوات After listening to Marisha and Ashley talk about Beau and Yasha adopting, I actually see them joining Fjord and Jester in destroying the criminal underbelly id="hidden39" class="buttons"> of the orphanage that Fjord originally started at -- and at the end, Fjord and Jester take at least one child that is adventurous, while Beau and Yasha take a couple of children who need a lot of love and support, maybe children that remind them of Caleb (a bit?). I can also see Veth actually having an Orphan's Home for Adventurers, where young kids come and learn how to fight, shoot crossbows, learn magic -- all under the tutelage of various M9 members, including Caduceus, who actually teaches the kids to make tea, respect temples, and respect the dead.
And at some point, the kids get to go on a field trip to the Blooming Grove to hang out with the Clays for a week.
