Northern Territory records two new locally acquired cases

Chief Minister Michael Gunner says the Northern Territory has recorded two new cases of community transmission and identified a number of additional exposure sites. Darwin, Litchfield and Palmerston are currently under a snap lockdown following a cluster which emerged at a mine in the territory. “There is one close contact exposure site,” Mr Gunner said. “It is a Zumba class held between 9:00am and 9:30am on Saturday morning at the recreation centre in Palmerston. “Everyone who attended this class is under a stay at home order and required to isolate for the first 14 days, regardless of the result of their COVID test.” Some of the casual exposure sites include the Palmerston flea market, as well as several stores within the Gateway Shopping Centre in Palmerston.

After initially using Christmas Island with great success early on to evacuate Australians out of mainland China back in February 2020 to spend 14 days in isolation offshore, he has then done an about face and allowed the boats and other international airlines to arrive from Italy, U.S., GB etc. He has overall say in how the virus was received and must take responsibility instead of refusing to answer inquiries or reporters questions. Hotel quarantine , if you can call confining people in hotels within populated centres quarantine, is not effective. Traditionally quarantine was the restriction of people on ships or islands away and seperated from populated centres. These traditional methods gave way in light of new vaccines and antibiotics to treat complications from many of the known diseases.
Today we face a virus that has no known effective treatment and which governments have forgotten the lessons of the past.
Morrison must be held to account for all the families that have lost loved ones in aged care homes, hotels, anywhere where Australians have died as a result of planes and boats being allowed to enter from countries with known outbreaks. The debacle surrounding the vcaccine roll out has further highlighted this mans incompetence as leader. He is responsible for that, no one else. He has tried to put commerce ahead of Australian lives and it has been an absolute disaster both in lives lost and the Australian economy!
